Room 12 Term Review

We have had such a busy term with so much going on, it is great to have this blog to finally start documenting our work.

We have had visits from Zero Waste and Know Water.  Both these programs have had the children involved with thinking about how we waste water and make waste, but more importantly what we can do to make changes in our lives to improve both of these.

Here are some of the photos of our time with Theresa studying Know Water.

Carrying the water that you and your family need to drink and use each day is hard work.  Thankfully we don't have to do it each day for kilometers and kilometers like some families around the world have to ...

We also checked out where the water travels in our school.  Here are the pumps and water tanks that we need to supply our school with water.  Mr Timms works hard to make sure that we always have enough water .....

We also had the Life Education caravan come this term and focused on being good friends.  We have made some great changes in our class with the way that we talk to each other and how we try and be kind and take care of each other.  This will continue to be a focus for the remainder of the year.

This term we have also had 'Swim for life' instructors come in.  Each class has had 3 sessions.  Here are some photos from the fun session using the life jackets.  We were really good at making a huddle circle and kicking in a line to keep safe in the water.

Of course camp was a highlight for everyone this term and I haven't heard any children complain that we didn't make it out on the Monday.  We had such a fun day at school and then camp was so jam packed with fun things, I think that people forgot that we were meant to be there for two nights.  I am sure that we will spend the rest of the year looking back on the fun times that we had together. Thanks again to all those involved in making the camp such a success.  Please look on the camp post for photos of camp.
Thanks for a wonderful first term.  I'm looking forward to term 2 which looks to be as busy as always with lots of learning and fun activities for us to do.
Please comment below so that I feel motivated to continue posting on the blog.
Have a safe and lovely Easter and I'll see you all back in Term 2.

Room 12 Term One Certificate Winners

Congratulations to all of the winners of certificates this term.  You have all worked hard and shown the Glenbervie values throughout the term.

Simon, Grace and Jack you were our first winners ......
I was so impressed with the way you all came into the class and got stuck into your work.  You have shown that you have what it takes to be focused and hard working class members.  Grace from the first day you have shown that you are a wonderful role model for other students to follow - thanks for always doing the right thing .....

Danika, Joshua and Monica-Rose
You have all shown that working hard is the key to a successful classroom.  When we are all trying our best and getting our work finished the best we can our class is AMAZING.  You 3 make sure that you get your work done so that we can move onto the fun games afterwards.  Monica-Rose, you have been trying so hard with your homework at home - keep up the great work .....

Sidney and Kaylee
You both received your certificates for different reasons.  Sidney, I've been impressed with the way that you are working so hard at home with your homework.  Even though you are nervous about presenting your work to the class, you are trying to conquer those nerves and do it with gaining confidence.  Kaylee, you received your certificate because you are trying really hard to channel your bubbly energy into getting your work done.  You have tried really hard to get onto tasks quickly and leave the fun for later.  Well done both of you!

Danika and Issy -  End of term award winners .....
You both deserve these awards so much.  Everyday you are trying your best and come into class with a positive attitude and are kind and caring to your class mates.  Thanks for being so wonderful to have in the class.
